A Bicycle Tour around Iceland: The West Fjords and clockwise around the Ring Road
Some facts and figures about our trip
We started and finished the trip at Keflavík Airport, which is in the south west near Reykjavík
The total distance that we cycled was 2200 km.
The trip took 23 days, which includes two rest days, at an average distance of 105 km per cycling day.
The longest distance in one day was 168 km, from Mývatn to Egilsstaðir. This took about 12 hours.
There was one ferry crossing, from Stykkishólmur to Brjánslækur in the West Fjords.
We rode through a 6 km tunnel, south of Ísafjörður, and a 1300 m tunnel north of Höfn. Both were well lit.
